my problem is why does the city of grand junction think that they need to make all of the roads with bike lanes on them when if they would start cleaning up the riverfront trail it would make it safer for bikes and pedestrian's and it connects to basically every part of this valley now just the other day while driving on Patterson road there was a person on a bike in the bike lane and it was a problem as they where basically in the road way and I almost had to choose weather to hit them or the car next to me what the city needs to do is get rid of the bike lanes on very busy roadways or widen the roads to fit both cars and bikes with out having to get ride of one of the car lanes also what the city needs to do with all of the tax money that we keep giving them is stop building so much housing and commercial places and not fixing the roadways after they start construction and get rid of all the roundabouts I don't know how many times I almost get hit from people not from here that don't know how to drive in them and they are not safer for anyone in this valley I know this is a lot of information and rants but it seams like this is the only way to talk to the city of grand junction due to them constantly only having closed meetings that the public cant go to and voice their concerns' with how horrible they are doing with the city

PLEASE. Leave the historic part of 7th street alone! From north to grand…do not change it. It works fine the way it is. Just keep the potholes in check. That’s all. It’s on the historic register. LEAVE IT ALONE! 3rd and 6th streets are perfectly fine for bike and pedestrians. Stop fixing things that are not broken. 4th and 5th street are a disaster! Leave 7th alone!!!!

One of the reasons that we moved to GJ from Southern California three years ago was due to its small-town charm, especially downtown. We opted to buy a home out “in the country” up 26 ½ Road close to the interstate. Since arriving, there has been an extensive push by government officials to change, change, change. Now there’s scooters littering the streets, unsightly bollards on 4th and 5th streets, a push to create an interchange at 29 Road and now the proposed 7th “improvements”. Wow. Not sure that we would have picked GJ had we known that the charm of this town was being widely altered. Next thing you know, you folks will want to close Main Street between 1st and 7th to cars and make it foot only foot traffic. Suggestions: Remove the bollards. Leave 7th Street alone. Instead of spending all the money on the streets, why don’t you spend it on improving the street names. It’s amazing that so many roads have two names. I’m sure that the tourists that visit the city think that the roads with two names are a joke. We sure do.

7th Street has already been beautified and made safer for vehicle access, we do not need SINGLE Lanes in Grand Junction! We are no longer a farming community and the focus of our ROADS should be on moving vehicle traffic. The City has already created a nightmare on 4th and 5th Streets: haven't you wasted enough money already?! Why are you using taxpayer money to hire outside consultants at exorbitant rates?! If you want to make bicycle lanes they belong away from established roads; they should be on the other side of road curbing and separated from pedestrian sidewalks by bollards or a grass/plant section. It is not safe to mix bicycle and vehicle traffic and it is not needed; these two transportation types have very different needs. Stop trying to be Denver or California and STOP this wasteful unnecessary spending of taxpayer money. I call for a complete sweep of all City Council Members and City Transportation heads, this City has gone bonkers!!
