The Community Recreation Center (CRC) is excited to announce hiring updates. We want to welcome our new full-time staff members:
Matthew James, Youth Coordinator
Matt comes to the CRC after working for the Parks and Recreation department for 11 years. Matt has most recently been the coordinator overseeing youth basketball and summer camps. Matt will be coordinating Kid’s Club, the climbing wall, and other youth programs at the CRC.
Garrett Shudinis, Aquatics Specialist
Garrett has been an Aquatics Specialist with the City of Grand Junction for three years. He brings a wealth of GJ Aquatic knowledge to the CRC, as he has been involved in the department in various capacities for seven years. Garrett is eager to provide new aquatic opportunities to the community!
Construction crews are working hard to continue the progression of building the Community Recreation Center. Below are some exciting updates:
Concrete floor staining and carpet installation are underway
Basketball hoops, volleyball nets, and gymnasium divider curtains are installed
Light fixtures are getting installed
Myrtha pool liners are being installed
Landscaping is ongoing
