June 2026 Community Recreation Center Update

The Community Recreation Center (CRC) will begin selling memberships and accepting facility rentals beginning on Monday, June 8, 2026. The first 500 memberships sold will receive a special gift!

The CRC can be found at 2836 Recreation Way, near the corner of 28 1/4 Road and Patterson Road. Please follow the posted signs to the membership sales trailer to ensure the construction site is not disturbed. Attached is a map of how to find the membership sales trailer.

Visit the CRC website for more information on memberships and facility rentals.

The Community Recreation Center is also excited to announce more team updates. We want to welcome some of our new full-time staff members. These three professionals will be front and center, providing exceptional service to CRC patrons.

Jennifer Ingram, Recreation Services Representative (RSR)

  • As a lifelong resident of the Grand Valley, I am very excited to be part of the CRC! This is long overdue for our area, and I can't wait to see our community enjoying this fantastic new amenity for generations to come! From the groundbreaking ceremony in June of 2024 to the installation of gym floors in May 2026, I have enjoyed being along for the ride on this adventure!
  • I have been with the City in my position for three years now. My background mainly consists of customer service in the banking industry. I also worked as a teacher's aide in 1st grade and Kindergarten for three years, which was both fun and very challenging!

Melissa Gerson, Recreation Services Representative (RSR)

  • This will be my 5th summer with GJPR. I have been a seasonal RSR and staff member supporting the pickleball program. Before that, I worked at a variety of fitness centers, rec centers, and yoga studios as a yoga instructor, studio manager, and front desk admin.
  • I am so EXCITED and PROUD to be working at the CRC! The CRC is such a needed resource for the community, and it's going to serve everyone! In my humble opinion, it's going to easily be the most beautiful facility in the valley, with the best programming, led by the best instructors, and organized by the best leaders.

Sierra Packard, Recreation Services Representative (RSR)

  • I grew up in the valley and participated in many recreational and community activities, so getting to be part of the new CRC is exciting for me. I attended CMU, where I studied theatre and business and played for the Women's Rugby team. Before joining the Parks and Recreation team, I worked in animal welfare as a Foster and Volunteer Coordinator for a local Humane Society, building experience in community outreach and volunteer engagement. I am excited to continue serving our community, helping showcase everything our growing city has to offer, and fostering opportunities for connection, wellness, and enjoyment.
