The City of Grand Junction is set to host a groundbreaking ceremony for the Community Recreation Center at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 1 at Matchett Park.

Timeline of events:

• 5K Fun Run begins at 8:30 a.m. Registration is now open! 
• Disc Golf Tournament begins at 8:30 a.m. Registration is now open! 
• Groundbreaking ceremony at 10 a.m. 
• Day-of activities begin at 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. 
  • Virtual tour of the Community Recreation Center through QR Codes
  • Bump-n-jumps, kids' activities, and games 
  • Music by Ryan Gris
  • BBQ lunch from Colorado Q (first 450 guest meals are complimentary by FCI Construction)
