Impact Fees Study

The City of Grand Junction has contracted with TischlerBise to develop an updated impact fee study which is required by the municipal code to be reviewed at least every five years by a consultant.

Two meetings were held to review the findings from TischlerBise and focus on specific areas of the Impact Fee Study:

• November 19 at 5 p.m. focus on Affordable Housing Linkage Fee. View the recorded meeting online.
• December 10 at 5 p.m. focus on Parks and Transportation Fee

Impact Fees Purpose

An impact fee is a one-time payment charged to new development to help ensure that the city can maintain the current levels of service our community expects as growth occurs. Impact fees offset the costs of new capital construction necessary to accommodate new development and growth.

Impact fees can be used to offset costs for:

• Transportation infrastructure
• Municipal Facilities
• Parks
• Public Safety (Fire and Police)
• Affordable housing
