Impact Fees Study

The City of Grand Junction has contracted with TischlerBise to develop an updated impact fee study which is required by the municipal code to be reviewed at least every five years by a consultant.

Two community meetings have been held so far in the process to gather feedback from community members regarding the impact fee study. The first was held on July 18 and the second on August 29. A third community meeting is forthcoming with a date TBD.

Impact Fees Purpose

An impact fee is a one-time payment charged to new development to help ensure that the city can maintain the current levels of service our community expects as growth occurs. Impact fees offset the costs of new capital construction necessary to accommodate new development and growth.

Impact fees can be used to offset costs for:

• Transportation infrastructure
• Municipal Facilities
• Parks
• Public Safety (Fire and Police)
• Affordable housing
